After a number of presentations and reference visits, a new Cougar RTG was purchased from the YXLON company; the device perfectly meets our expectations regarding testing in electrical engineering. The RTG boasts first-rate technology, an open high-resolution tube of less than 1 um, simple operation and a high-speed digital detector. The device is able to x-ray samples 440x550mm in size. The device makes it possible to perform also the 3D laminography. It has been a standard in our company to perform the BGA soldering inspection and the assessment of the amount of voids.
